Book launch “Cadernos do arquivo – Paulo Henrique de Carvalho e Cunha – pioneiro do planeamento portuário”
On the 24 of July 2022, marking their third anniversary, the Archives of Portos de Lisboa, Setúbal and Sesimbra edited the book “Cadernos do arquivo – Paulo Henrique de Carvalho e Cunha – pioneiro do planeamento portuário” [Archive Notebook – Paulo Henrique de Carvalho e Cunha – port planning pioneer], authored by José Luís de Saldanha, a researcher on the Grand Projects project.

Paulo Cunha, was one of the architects with the most work built in Portugal in the 20th century, developing a prolific career mainly in port cities in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking African countries. This book highlights the building complex around the Pedrouços fishing dock.

The book is the first number of “Cadernos do Arquivo” from the Archives of Portos de Lisboa, Setúbal and Sesimbra, a collection aiming to raise awareness of the role of port activity in the development of these municipalities.
