Grand Projects presentation at DINÂMIA’CET 7th Workshop
The Grand Projects research results were disclosed at the DINÂMIA’CET 7th Workshop, held at Iscte on the 22nd and 23rd of May, with the communication “From the Grand Projects to the Critical Monumentality of Álvaro Siza. Two research projects on the turn-of-the-millennium city” [Dos Grandes Trabalhos à Monumentalidade Crítica em Álvaro Siza. Dois projetos sobre a cidade do virar do milénio], by Paulo Tormenta Pinto, Ana Brandão, Pedro Luz Pinto and Elodie Marques.
The event aims to give visibility to the research developed at DINÂMIA’CET and, simultaneously, to promote the exchange of experiences among its members.
Ana Brandão and Elodie Marques presented a synthesis of the research results on the panel about Cultural and Territorial Dynamics, debating the optimism of the turn-of-the-millennium city, a period of strong public investment in architecture and urban design that welcomed programmes associated with free time, culture and leisure, large equipment and public spaces of different types.
