A new addition to the team: post-doctoral researcher
Following the open call for a PhD researcher, Ana Brandão was integrated into the Grand Projects project.
Ana Brandão has an Integrated Master in Architecture (2008, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa) and a PhD in Public Space and Urban Regeneration (2015, Universitat de Barcelona).
The jury, which was composed of the researchers Paulo Tormenta Pinto, Pedro Seco da Costa and João Paulo Delgado, considered the specificity of candidate academic works and the experience in areas considered fundamental to the project, specifically the expertise in interdisciplinary work regarding public space, urban design and urban planning. Ana Brandão PhD research has focused on urban production processes and their impacts on urban design and public space. She was part of the team that developed the “PSSS method of assessing and interpreting public spaces” and co-coordinated several studies and publications in that scope (2016-2019).
She also worked as an architect, in CCG Arquitectos developing projects for cultural facilities and schools (2009-2010), and lectured at the Technical Institute of Lisbon, in the Civil Engineer graduation (2011-2012).
